Perhaps the world's most famous bow wood the Yew wood. Taxus Baccata, with is characteristic heartwood and Sapwood.
In this 6-inch crowned limb design bow, we straightened the belly and left the backing proud. The tips are made of Heartwood Elm overlays.
The cambium is still showing as we only barely scraped off the bark leaving one single growth ring and a very nice primitive look. The curly snakey limbs add to the overall primitive feel.
Treated with several layers of Danish oil it has a nice shine and patina to it.
