Hardwood does not allow glue into the fibers because they are so dense making a weak glue joint. The solution is easy just use a toothing tool to cut grooves lengthwise in the wood or bamboo surfaces to be glued. Using the toothing tool, you will be sure to give the glue something to really GRAB hold of.
